Johnnie Lee Shahan

Johnnie Lee Shahan, 76, a lifelong resident of Birchwood, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was of the Baptist faith and loved to fish and to watch boxing. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was retired from Bendix/Allied Signal after many years of service.

Mr. Shahan was the son of the late Luther James Shahan and Louise Collins Shahan and he was also preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Keith Shahan; siblings, Zane Shahan, Tommy Shahan, Dennis Shahan, L.J. Shahan, and Billie Miller.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Shahan of Birchwood; children: Bryan Shahan and (Stormy) of Birchwood, Belinda Pearson and (Lamar) of East Ridge, Lisa Zius and (Mark) of Cleveland, Richard Nelson (Sharon), Rhonda Nelson, and Steven Nelson both of Birchwood; twenty grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Don Kidwell, Margie Shahan, and Gilbert Shahan.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, April 03, 2016 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in McInturf Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
