John A. Strzelecki, 95, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016, in a local healthcare facility. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, and had lived there until moving to Cleveland twelve years ago.
He was an electrician and a retiree from Ford Motor Company in Michigan. He was a Corporal in the United States Air Force and served during World War II and on the European Front. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Elks Club, and Free Mason. He was also a member of Lebanon Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. Strzelecki, Sr., and , Anna Strzelecki; wife, Nola Marella Jenkins Strzelecki; sisters, Elenor Dunn, Lillian Davis, Gertrude Winter, Loretta Ellenbrook, and Ann Renner; and brothers, George Strzelecki and Erving Strzelecki.
He is survived by six children, Nancy Hoffman of Cleveland, Anthony Strzelecki and wife Helen of Dundee, Michigan, Judy Strzelecki of Iowa; John Phillip Strzelecki of Cleveland, George Strzelecki and wife Lara of Cleveland, and Dan Strzelecki and wife Mary Anne of Milan, Michigan; grandchildren, Tracie Shea, Cari Anne Hoffman, Seth Hoffman, Joe Roth, Sara Roth, Emily Smith, Brandon Strzelecki, Katelyn Strzelecki, and several step grandchildren; great grand children, Maura Shea, Elizabeth Shea, Allison Hoffman, Luke Hoffman, Arianna Smith, Kia Smith, and Hazel Roth; sister, Dorothy Alfiari; brother-in-law, Lawerance Jenkins; and many, many nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Lebanon Baptist Church with military honors.
