Blanche Marie White

Blanche Marie White, 96, a lifelong resident of Old Fort, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was a member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church in Old Fort. She was retired from Benton Manufacturing after many years of service.

She loved to make bracelets of beads and randomly gave them away and enjoyed quilting. The joy of her life was her family and she loved her church family also.

Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, Travis White; her parents, Allen and Mollie Martin Mason; siblings, Lester Mason, Ida Mason, Lizzie Hagler, Luke Mason, Chester Mason, Vallie Pullen, Emma Lacy, and Fred Mason.

She is survived by four children and spouses: Ann Harbison and husband Ronnie of Delano, Ray White and wife, Nancy, Don White and wife, Mildred, and Van White all of Old Fort; six grandchildren, Greg Harbison and wife, Paula, Lisa Ledford and husband, Jarvis, Angie Whaley and husband, Brian, Jamie White and wife, Stacey, Donna White, and Shelly Purnell and husband, Bryan; twelve great-grandchildren, Abby Harbison, Burch Harbison, Emma Ledford, Anna Ledford, Luke Ledford, Mathew Casteel, Heather Cline, Riley White, Gage White, Maria Smith, Molly Purnell, and Ally Purnell; one great-great-granddaughter, Bayleigh Cline; several nieces, nephews and her church family also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2016 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastors Homer Roberts and John Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Boanerges Baptist Church Cemetery with Greg Harbison, Bryan Purnell, Brian Whaley, Jamie White, Jarvis Ledford and Gage White serving as pallbearers. Matthew Casteel, Luke Ledford, Burch Harbison, and Riley White will serve as honorary pallbearers. A white dove release will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016 and just prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
