James Leo McBride

May 1, 1922 — July 10, 2016

James Leo McBride, 94, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 in a Chattanooga hospital.

He had been a resident of the Calhoun and Cleveland area for the past 62 years and was retired from Bowaters.  He had served as a paratrooper during World War II.  He enjoyed playing many rounds of golf with his wife Ethel at the Cleveland Country Club.   He also enjoyed watching his grandsons Charlie and Phillip play golf and baseball.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Ethel Davis McBride; parents, Bo McBride and Lily Hubbard McBride; sister, Estelle Wilson; and brother-in-law, Roland Moon.

He is survived by two sons, Jimmy McBride and wife Judy of Chattanooga, and Royce McBride and wife Pam of Cleveland; two grandchildren, Phillip McBride and wife Dawn of Cleveland, and Charlie Rymer and wife Carol of Orlando, FL; three great grandchildren, Charlie Duke Rymer and Hayden Rymer of Orlando, FL, and Kaitlyn Borton of Cleveland; one brother, Floyd McBride and wife Elaine of Mobile, AL; one sister, Barbara Moon of Gadsden, AL; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
