Russell Blair Liner

Russell Blair Liner, 53, a resident of McDonald, TN passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 13, 2016.

He was born and raised in McMinn County and attended City Park School in Athens, TMI Tennessee Military Institute in Sweetwater and graduated from McMinn County High School. He attained the status of Eagle Scout of Professor Power’s troop 116. He loved NASCAR racing, target shooting and UT football. His favorite vacation destination was the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. He enjoyed both playing and watching golf. He loved spending time with his family and was loved by them.

He worked at Denso Manufacturing in Athens and M & M Mars Manufacturing in Cleveland. He was a member of the McMinn County Rescue Squad and Keith Memorial United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Creed Liner; sister, Nancy Fugate; grandparents, Iva Dodson and Dell Collins.

He is survived by wife, Mary York Liner; mother, Polly Collins Liner; two sons Rudy Navarrette and wife Dana; Chris Navarrette and wife Amanda both of Cleveland; grandchildren, Evanie, Karson, Elijah and Paisley Navarrette, and Daisy and Luke Heatherley all of Cleveland; 2 brothers, David & Kathy Liner of Nashville, TN, Wesley Liner of Athens.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, July 20 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with visitation prior to the service from 5:00- 7:00 pm.
