Roy Lane Hysinger, 89, passed away at his family residence on Sunday, July 17, 2016. He was a great and Godly man and has now entered into the gates of Heaven because he lead a life of helping others, taking care of his friends and family and sharing his love of Jesus.

 

He was a Veteran of the Army in 1945-1947, and was an engineer. He was stationed in France and Germany and was MIA on an army ship, but was found a week later after being declared lost at sea.

 

He was a former member and Sunday School Superintendent and Treasurer of Asbury United Methodist Church and a charter member of Big Springs United Methodist Church.

He was President of the Oak Grove Ruritan club for several years and helped in various community projects. He retired from Magic Chef in 1989 after 24 years of service and received many awards for his active participation. He loved gardening, working in the yard, and building, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  They were the light of his life and he loved playing with them, teaching them and sharing his love.  He was truly the greatest “Papaw.”

 

Roy has now joined the love of his life in Heaven, Virginia “Louise” Hysinger. They shared a special love and were the best of friends and everyone that met them, could see and feel the love that have for each other. He is also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Misty Rymer Thompson, parents, Ben L. and Bertha D.Caywood Hysinger, and son-in-law, Jerry Rymer.   Roy was the youngest of six siblings, who have also passed away, Iva Hysinger, Harley ( Kitty) Hysinger, J.A. (Maxie) Hysinger, Irene (Dickie) Huff, Jewel McClanahan, and Frances (Perry) Harden.

 

He leaves behind to cherish is children, Kathy Rymer, Dennis (Faye) Hysinger, John (Dorlene) Ingram, and Ken (Susan) Ingram, all of Cleveland. His beloved Grandchildren,  Shane (Brian) Rymer, Dustin, Tyler and Cassie Ingram, Olivia Hysinger, Shaun (Shauna) Cavett ,Heather (John) Davis, and Laura Ingram. He also leaves behind seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 in the chapel fo Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers are Shane Rymer, Brian Faulkenberry, Dustin and Tyler Ingram, and Kaleb and Cameron Thompson.

 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the funeral home.
