Eugene Beck

Eugene A. (Gene) Beck, 84, a resident of Cleveland for 34 years, passed away Thursday, July 28th 2016, at Tennova Health Care. He was born in Evansville, Indiana and was preceded in death by his parents Leo Beck, Jr. and Beulah Beck and six siblings.

Gene attended Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and was a member of the Altersgate Sunday School class. He worked in and owned photography companies for many years, traveling throughout the United States and Canada.

At a young age he became involved with the YMCA, which continued throughout his life. He enjoyed swimming, fishing, cooking, traveling and being with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Roberta of 52 years and beloved daughter Lorie Harris (Randy) of Cleveland and beloved stepchildren, Terri Axton (Mike) of New Harmony, Indiana, Jim Gerst (Julie) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Mark Gerst (Mary) of Newburgh, Indiana. He was a wonderful grandfather to 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and one sister, Kate Maxson of Chaney, Washington.

The celebration of life memorial service will be held at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory at 2:00 p.m., August 20, 2016 with visitation prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church Food Pantry, 3405 Peerless Rd., NW, Cleveland, Tennessee 37312.
