Owen Fait Holt

Owen Fait Holt, 73, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. He pastored at the Fairview Church of God where he was a member also.

He was a retired diesel mechanic after many years of working at Collins, Preferred, Smith Transfer, and American. He was loved dearly by his family and his friends. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he loved all of his animals especially his dogs and horses.

Mr. Holt was the son of the late Paul Holt and Thelma Calfee Holt; and was also preceded in death by his son, Darren Holt and brother-in-law, G.C. Park.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Arlene Holt of Cleveland; four children: Tina Hatherly and husband, Gary of South Carolina, Farren Holt and wife, Tanya, April Myers and husband, William, and Denise Myers all of Cleveland; seven grandchildren: Lauren Payne of Las Vegas, NV and fiancée Eric Beattie, Hayley Hatherly, and Hannah Hatherly both of S.C., Emily Holt, Derek Myers, Brad Myers all of Cleveland, and U.S. Army Specialist Cody Myers of Colorado and fiancée, Jessica Johnson; siblings: brothers, Willis Holt and wife, Martha, Garry Holt and wife, Barbara, Larry Holt and wife, Glenda and sister, Mildred Park; and ex-son-in-law, Willard Myers; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 at the funeral home.
