Charlotte Payne

Charlotte Payne, 67, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was a member of North Cleveland Church of God and loved her church where she was very active in the ministry to senior adults. She loved her family and was passionate about seeing her grandkids grow up. She loved life and always ready to go. She traveled and enjoyed vacations with her beloved family and she also loved to fish. She was retired from Whirlpool/Maytag.

Mrs. Payne was the daughter of the late Clinton Long and Eunice V. Long and was also preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Lena Payne.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Brent Payne of Cleveland; three children: Derrick Payne and wife, Michele of Cumming, GA, Misty Waldrop and husband, Darrell of Ooltewah and Eric Payne of Cleveland; grandchildren: Chris Widner, Courtney Moats, Ryan Nipper, Erica Payne, Justin Driggers, Rachel Jensen, Brianna Griffith, and Brett Griffith; three great-grandchildren: Miah Widner, Rylin Widner and Everly Rose Widner; three sisters: Bennie Keith, Carlene Keith, and Alice Lee and husband, Dennis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Dixon Chapel of North Cleveland Church of God with Reverend Travis Porter officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
