Jody Conn, 62, a resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016. He was formerly of Ocala, Florida and had also resided in Denver, Colorado. He was a school teacher at East Brainerd Elementary School.
Mr. Conn was preceded in death by his father, Milton Ingram.
He is survived by his wife, Lenora Gates Conn of Chattanooga; mother, Jan Rowland-Collins; 6 children: Joshua Conn of Denver, Colorado, Jacob Conn, Justin Conn, and Janelle Conn Bryant and husband, Julius all of Ocala, Florida, Tracey Price Hill, and Terran Price both of Cleveland, Tennessee; siblings: Tyson Swearingen of Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia, Bill Swearngen of Pikeville, Tennessee, and Roxanne Bodden Beaudet of Ocala, Florida; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Jody lived his life by the following statement: “It’s ok to live a life others do not understand. Be crazy, be silly, be weird, but be content”. He was a musician, educator, mathematician, scientist, gardner, explorer, and adventurer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2016 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Sterling Jetton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the funeral home.
