Thelma Faye DeLay, age 77, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016. She was a minister and founder of Blue Springs Pentecostal Church. She also worked for Cleveland City Schools.
She was preceded in death by her parents William McKinley Goodwin and Alice Lavanda Williams, her husband James DeLay and her son William “Ronnie” DeLay. She was also preceded in death by siblings; Sterling Goodwin, Ernest Goodwin, Lucille Earls, Wanda Wheeler, Wilma Whaley, Betty Gladson, Aubery Goodwin, Windell Goodwin and Laverne Melton.
She is survived by her sister, Reba Lowe of Cleveland, Tennessee and children; Kenneth Mike DeLay (Melissa), Joy DeLay, Gayla Guy (William), and Tammy Couch (Terry) all of Cleveland, Tennessee. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Tony DeLay, Paul DeLay, Beth Guy, Lamanda Bowers, Nicholas Guy, Michael DeLay, Nina Couch, Patrick Guy and Zack Couch and her great grandchildren; Abbey DeLay, Tony DeLay, Emma Evans, Hannah Bowers, Katelyn Guy, Nicholas Guy, Elijah DeLay, Brody Baliles and Paige Baliles as well as several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory, conducted by Reverend Kenneth Mike DeLay. Her Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
