Jerry Hitson

Jerry Hitson, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the family residence.  He was of the Baptist faith.  He was employed with Benabout Farms for many years.  He loved his family,  his job, classic cars and his pets.    Mr. Hitson was the son of the late, George Hitson and Gertie West Hitson; his siblings:  Marvin Hitson, Charles Hitson, Jody Hitson, Lloyd Hitson, Floyd Hitson, Virginia Hitson, Christine Hitson.   He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Jean Jones Hitson; one daughter, Sherry Haney and husband, Timothy of Cleveland; grandchildren:  Bethany Neeper and her husband, Mike, Cassidy Lawson and his wife, Shayla; great-grandchildren:  Casey, Jamie, and Sawyer Neeper, Clementine Lawson; brother, G.W. Hitson and wife, Rosamae; sister, Maybelle Smith and husband, Harold; special aunt, Dora West; several nieces and nephews also survive.   Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2016 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend David O’Neal officiating.  Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Clint Lee, Matt Doty, Ronnie Hefner, Dave Hefner, Thomas Clements, Jacob Sheryl serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Canten Ragsdale and Skeeter Baker.  A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.   The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the funeral home.   We invite you to send a message of condolence and view the Hitson family guestbook at www.ralphbuckner.com.
