Mary Lou Amos Morris, 81, a resident of Cleveland, went to be with the Lord on December 25, 2016 in the comfort of her home. She was a wonderful, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved working in her greenhouse and garden and going to the Farmer’s Market. She loved her family and had a wonderful 49 years of marriage to a great man, Vernon Kenneth Morris, who passed away, July 10, 2000. She was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kyle Amos and Grace Amos Vinson of Church Hill, TN and five sisters, Bobby Amos King, Edith Amos Hanson, Edna Amos Knowles, Nellie Amos Roberts and Shirley Amos Lane.
Survivors include her son, Eddie Lynn Morris and Cindy of Cleveland, her caregivers; other sons: Randal Lee Morris and Della of Charleston, Richard Eric Morris and Carolyn of Charleston and Joseph Vernon Morris of Cleveland; seven grandchildren, Austin Morris of Cleveland, Lily Morris of Cleveland, Heather Harris (Lee) of Cleveland, Nathan Morris of Calhoun, Justin Morris of Atlanta, GA, Stephen Morris of Cleveland and Matthew Morris of Cleveland; two great-grandchildren, Savannah Harris and Blake Morris , both of Cleveland; five brothers, Tommy Amos of Church Hill, Ken Amos of Surgoinsville, Carl Amos, Jackie Amos and Paul Amos, all of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews and a very special niece and caregiver, Crystal Norris ( Jimmy) of King, NC. Other special caregivers include Glenda Adams of Georgetown, Brenda Kyle of Georgetown, Diana Kyle of Cleveland and Della Rodie of Charleston.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Herdis Kyle officiating. Interment will follow in Chilcutt United Methodist Church Cemetery with Austin Morris, Nathan Morris, Justin Morris, Ryan Johnson, Charles Amos and Dewayne Morris serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the funeral home.
