James L. Smith

James Louis Smith, 63, a resident of Harrison, TN, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at his residence.  He had worked as an electrician with TVA and was a member of IBEW Local 175.  He had lived in Harrison most of his life and was of the Church of God faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack N. Smith and Edna Lee Burton Smith; siblings, Josephine Taylor, Charles Smith, John Smith, Sara Tomlin, Frances Lowe, Bobby Swanson, and Betty Stearman.

He is survived by his wife, Linda “Jane” Peters Smith; four children, Dorenda Young and husband James of Dalton, GA, Stephanie Harden and husband Keith of Birchwood, TN, Michael Wilson of Harrison, and Lisa Clayton and husband Vance of Harrison; seven grandchildren, Jason Young, Daniel Harden, Ashley Espinoza, Rachel Clayton, Joel Clayton, Zachary Wilson, and Hayley Wilson; eight great grandchildren, Lily Young, Moira Jane Young, Nathaniel Young, Kirsten Wilson, Gavinn Harden, Aubrey Harden, Landon Harden, and Cruz Espinoza; siblings, Jack Smith, Jr., Paul Smith, Patsy Owen, Glenda Taylor, Linda Taylor, Dorothy Bailey, Wanda Rhinehart; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2017, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Gardens East with Jason Young, Joel Clayton, Daniel Harden, Zachary Wilson, Jimmy Young, Vance Clayton, Keith Harden, and Javi Espinoza serving as pallbearers.  A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at the funeral home.
