Glenn Thompson, 93, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the family residence. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a self employed car dealer and retired from Sunset Memorial Gardens. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII.
He loved working at his own appliance business and watch and clock repair shop.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Margaret Thompson; his son, Jimmy Thompson; parents, Luther Thompson and Ina Minnis Thompson; siblings, Cecil Thompson, Alvin Thompson, Fredrick Thompson, Betty Brown, and Denise Thompson.
He is survived by his two children: Steve Thompson (Elizabeth Thompson), and Ronald Thompson (Brenda Faye Thompson); 5 grandchildren, Pamela Thompson, Stephanie McCoy, Robert Thompson, Amanda Thompson, Anthony Thompson; 6 great-grandchildren, Brett Carroll, Kameron Kirkendall, Christopher Fink, Landon Thompson, Tori Thompson, and Addison Thompson; 4 great-great grandchildren, Bryson Kirkendall, Liam Kirkendall, Aubrey Fink, and Colton Fink; siblings, Bernice Harris, Robbie Dean Frazier, Willard Thompson, Jane Harris and Billie Joe Thompson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Chaplain Mike Justice and Reverend Josh Taylor officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with military honors.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
