Charlotte Kay Howard

Charlotte Kay Howard, 68, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the family residence.  She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. 

She was passionate about spending time with her family especially her pride and joy, great-granddaughter, Nevaeh.  She enjoyed gardening, her flowers and being outdoors.  She loved her quiet morning time on the porch. 

Mrs. Howard was the daughter of the late Richard Barnes and Dorothy Barnes and was also preceded in death by her siblings, Eugene Barnes and Sharon Mink.

She is survived by her husband, Arlen Gene Howard of Cleveland; children:  Pamela Karlsen and partner Linda Boyd of McDonald, TN, Stephen Eugene Howard of Athens, TN, Arlen Dale Howard and wife, Jill of Romeoville, Illinois; grandchildren, Charlotte Karlsen and husband, Timothy of Cleveland, TN, and Blake Howard of Cleveland, TN; siblings, Patricia Robinson, Debra Laughing (Barnes), Paula Brown (Barnes), Donna Marsh (Barnes), Keith Barnes, and Rex Barnes; great-granddaughter, Nevaeh; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Joe White officiating.  Interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2017 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
