Vivian Yarbrough, 87, a resident of Athens, TN, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. She was a lifelong resident of Athens except for a few years when she lived in Florida. She was a member of Christ Community Church. She was the proprietor Country Décor and the Cottage Antiques and Collectibles and was a long time member of the Athens Garden Club. In her younger years, she was a contributor to the The Daily Post-Athenian newspaper. She was a delightful, friendly woman who loved and served her husband and family. She enjoyed taking them camping and hiking across the United States. She never met a stranger.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John Sherrod Yarbrough; parents, Floyd Dexter Webb and Brucie Mae Small Webb; and sister, Virginia Jane Webb Henry.
She is survived by three children, Floyd Lindsey Yarbrough and wife Sheila of Athens, John Sherrod Yarbrough and wife Niki of McMinn County; and Phyllis Jane Rogers and husband Randy of Riceville; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one brother, Floyd Dexter Webb.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Etowah Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
