David Dean Dorman, 59, a resident of Charleston, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at his home. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He served as the Executive Vice President for Pen Gulf, Inc. where he worked for 37 years. David was the committee chairman for Boy Scout Troop and Pack 616, coached the Calhoun Cubs for 12 years, and was a member of the Longridge Hunting Club. He was of Christian faith and put many volunteer service hours in to the local church communities.
Mr. Dorman was preceded in death by his father, Billy Gene Dorman.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Cook Dorman of Charleston; his mother, Evelyn Zeuschner Dorman Hise; three children David Joseph Dorman of Cleveland, Daniel Nicholas Dorman of Charleston and Dutsch Pierce Dorman of Charleston; sister, Dolores Kane and husband Bill of Pensacola, FL; brother, Larry Dorman and wife Lina of Las Vegas, NV; and other family members, Ainna Moeining, Bryan Dorman, Christian Brents, Brad Kane, Dawn Kane and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A celebration of life with military honors will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Davis and Rev. Dr. Michael Cook officiating. A bagpipe and white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.
