Walter Ronald Hilbert, 74, a resident of Old Fort, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was a member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church. He was a retired truck driver from Shaw Industries after many years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Ray Hilbert, Sr. and Clara Vires Hilbert; brother, Arthur Ray Hilbert, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Hilbert of Old Fort; two daughters, Cindy Crump of Cleveland and Vicky Hilbert Cook of Old Fort; two step children, Gregory K. Burgess and wife Beth of Old Fort, and Charles A. Burgess and wife, Misty of Delano, TN; brother, Douglas R. Hilbert of Mt. Washington, KY; two sisters, Brenda Gail Rapp and Rita Hilbert Berryhill, both of Louisville, KY; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; special cousins, Junior and Brenda Bentley of Louisville, KY; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Cecil Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Hiwassee Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
