James Leon Watson, 91, was called home to Jesus on July12th. He was born to Arthur and Laura Watson and has lived most of his life in the Cleveland area. He was an active member of Philippi Baptist Church and preached the gospel for 58 years. He is a WWII veteran of the US Army, serving in Germany.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Audrey; brothers, R.B. Reed and Curtis Watson; sisters, Naomi Liner, Dorothy Houston and Helen Schrimpsher.
He is survived by his son, Boyce Watson (Janice) of Cleveland; his daughters, Joyce Goodner (Jerry) and Loyce Farris (Earl) all of Cleveland; grandsons, Mark Farris (Sandra) of Cleveland, Tony Farris (Hilary) of Houston, TX., Jamie Watson (Laura) of Little Rock, AR., Michael Farris of West Virginia; granddaughters, Jerri Lynn Keels (Billy) of High Point, NC., Deadra Fischer (Art) of Buford, GA., LeAnn Holcomb (Clay) of Portland, OR., Michelle Smith (Josh) and Alex Linville of Cleveland; 19 great grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie and Betty Watson of Cleveland and brother, Hubert Watson of Columbia, TN.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2018 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Hooker officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Men from Philippi Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
The family will received friends from 1:00- 4:00 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service.
