Vicky L. Patterson

Vicky Lynn Martin Patterson, 66, of Cleveland, passed away in a local hospital surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 29, 2018. She was born in Virginia and had been a resident of Bradley County since 1995.  She was a member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church.  She was everyone’s mom.  She loved shopping, cooking, quilting, the Christmas season, and most of all, she loved her husband, kids, and grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, James “Jim” Patterson; parents, Emory and Georgia Jenkins Martin; brothers, James Martin, Dee Martin and Eddie Martin; and sister, Debbie Marlow.

She survived by her two children, James “Jimbo” Patterson, Jr. and wife, Nikki of Benton, and Christy Spurgeon, of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Kaitlyn Spurgeon (Bronson Pierce) of Rome, GA, Heather and Hershel Cooper of Ringgold, GA, Noah and Gabe Spurgeon of Cleveland; Joel Patterson of Benton, and Jacob Patterson of Benton; sister, Alice Evans of Cleveland; brother, Dennis Martin of Sun City, AZ; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018  in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with  Brother Jack Patterson, Brother John Patterson, and Brother Christopher Watson officiating.  Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.  A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
