Frank Richard Leitner, 57, of Independence, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Chicago, IL, attended St. Richard’s Catholic School and Madame Curie Sladowska High School.
From working at the Chicago Board of Trade, he moved to Hawaii to pursue a professional drumming career. He is remembered by many relatives and childhood friends scattered across the U.S. for his love of music and playing the drums.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Anton Leitner.
He is survived by his mother, Frances Leitner of Cleveland and formerly of Western Springs, IL; sisters, Dawn Anderson and husband Kenneth of Cleveland, and Jennifer Douglass and husband Christopher of Cleveland; nieces and nephews, Ryan Burge and husband Brad, Hilary Barrett and husband Tim, Jessica Pearce and husband Shawn, Justin Douglass, and Joy Douglass; and great nieces and nephews, Chase, Harleigh, Christina, and Blaze.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2018 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend James Sears officiating.
