Mary Ruth Bowman Cranfield

Mary Ruth Bowman Cranfield, 76, of Georgetown, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 in a Chattanooga hospital.  A native of Chattanooga she spent a majority of her life in Bradley County.  She was a member of Stanfield Baptist Church.  Mary loved gardening, working outdoors and spending time with her family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Cora Bell Murphy Bowman; son, Wesley Dean Cranfield; sisters, Edna Mae Jenkins, Irene Mowery, Agnes Bowman and Rosa Lee Hill; and brother, Wilbur Bowman.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Zeno Cranfield of Georgetown; three children, Keith (Darlene) Cranfield of Fannin County, GA, Marvin Cranfield of Riceville and Jessie (Rachel) Cranfield of Georgetown; 8 grandchildren, Brandon Godsey, Amanda Cranfield, Cassie Cranfield, Marvin Cranfield II, Josh Cranfield, Angel Byers, Candace Moore and Deven Cranfield; 4 great grandchildren, Lissie Jane, Natty, Peter and Raylynn; sisters, Velma Childs and Lois McDowell, both of Georgetown; brothers, Leroy (Geraldine) Bowman, Freddy (Wanda) Bowman and James Lee (Kathy) Bowman, all of Charleston and Jimmy (Debbie) Bowman of Cleveland; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Geren and Pastor David Evans officiating.  Interment will follow in Stanfield Baptist Church Cemetery with James Jenkins, David Childs, Timmy Childs, Mark Jenkins, Brandon Godsey and David Perkins serving as pallbearers.

Her family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
