Charles Melvin Bowlin, 74, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at his home. He was a native and lifelong resident of Bradley County. He was a member of North Cleveland Baptist Church where he served as the Sunday School teacher for the Higher Ground Sunday School class. He served as song leader, deacon, and pastor at various churches. He was the founder and the president of ISI General Contractor, was the co-owner of B & C Development. He was a published author, an avid U. T. Sports fan and a Civil War enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Catherine Bowlin, and his wife, Carolyn Bowlin.
He is survived by his daughter, Missy Welch and son-in-law, Brian and his daughter, Tonya Biggs, all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Christian Welch, Clayton Welch and Taylor Biggs, and his loyal pet, Finley.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2019 at North Cleveland Baptist Church with his son-in-law, Brian Welch officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019 prior to the service.
