Jewell Wallace Bynum

Jewell Wallace Bynum, 70, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at his home.  He was a member of Set Free Christian Fellowship.  He enjoyed trout fishing and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Blake and Rosie Bynum.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Debra K. Bynum of Cleveland; children, James W. Bynum (Lisa) and Jeremy Wade Bynum (Jessica), all of Cleveland; seven grandchildren, Maranda Beck (Corey), Matthew James Bynum, Katelyn Russell (Logan), Sarah Paige Bynum, Joseph Bynum, Nicole Monroe (Steven) and Miranda Porter, all of Cleveland; four great-grandchildren, Cooper James Beck, Adaline Beck, Hayden Monroe, Braxton Monroe; siblings, Fornie L. Bynum (Nadine) of McDonald, Pauline Officer (Bill) of Cleveland and Lorene Smith (Rick) of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Toni Morris (Glenn) of Cleveland; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor James Kent officiating.  Interment will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Corey Beck, Logan Russell, Matthew Bynum, Aaron Williams, Kevin Owensby and Shawn Christian Morris, II serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Morris, Joseph Bynum, Ronnie Cunningham, Rick Smith and Dale Farmer.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the funeral home.
